Green Lantern #39 SNEAK PEEK...

We'll it's been forever since my last post, I really need to work on the blogging thing. With that said this should be a good start. Since the end of Final Crisis Revelations I've been pretty busy working with Philip Tan fine tuning our new look. We wanted to go for something a little more texturally interesting. So our journey has lead us to realize we both have a lot of the same art appreciations. We both have a strong love for the works of Sergio Toppi and for me one of my favorites Travis Charest (the spacegirl stuff is amazing).

It don't come easy and it comes at a heavy price at times (less sleep). The beginning is always rough when it comes to an inker trying to read a penciller, there a lot of back and forth on what works and what doesn't. The new look is more about how my lines are gathered and how values and tones are created with the use of flat line weights. I'm not going for that design cool looking line thingy, whatever the hell that is. What I find to be the most fun is the challenge of not falling back into those old habits. For the first time in my career I feel like I am truly collaborating with another artist and what I do really does matter. We aren't 100% where we want to be but we're on the right track.

Thanks man.... a tall order to try to live up to, so maybe we can carve our own niche.

WOW! I just read your interview over on the PULSE and was blown away by the work shown there. (Haven't picked up the issue yet)

Even the little internet preview pics of the pages showed the richness of the textures and tones you guys have put into these pages and they are stunning to say the least.
