Commission Inks

Here's a few of my latest ink commission. I'll admit it's a challenge finding the time in my schedule to do these but it's always fun. I'm not sure I have a favorite of these three but I did have fun with the Alan Davis one. It's a bit outside of what I normally do but thats when I usually learn the most.

Stay tuned more to come!

Good day for an evil sketch

Well today's been a pretty crappy day so I figured I may as well dust of the cintiq and have at it. I didn't really have anything in my head that I wanted to get other than just something more than a stick figure. It's was a fun process of being frustrated but in the end I discovered some things about myself. Like I don't draw nearly as much as I should.

Tool: Painter X, Photoshop CS3, and iTunes.

New Cintiq 21UX

Today's sketch is brought to you by my new Cintiq 21UX (painter and Photoshop). I've been wanting to pick one of these babies up for a while now and I finally got around to picking one up and I'm glad I did. This is one sexy piece of technology. I wasn't sure how well I'd adapt to working on it but I have to say the set up is easy and working on it is a dream.

stay tuned for more sketches to come.

Final Crisis Revelations #2 In stores

This is one of my favorite pages of the series so far..... I mean come on Batwoman and Killer Croc, what more can you ask for. Philip did such an amazing job on the piece my jaw dropped when I saw it. I'll admit I avoided inking it for a while, it's a lot to take in.

Once I got going on the page I worked on it over a course of several days in oder to keep my sanity. It's not hard to go a little batty on a page like this.

Stay tuned for more to come......

The Last Cover

The last in the series and I have to say it's my favorite one. For this one I wanted to do something special.... something a little different. Well that was the plan at least. DC needed the cover turned around ASAP (as usually the case with covers) so this was pretty much would I came up with in the time I had. I'm hoping in the future to explore this style more in upcoming covers/pages.

Cain walks the Earth with the Spear of Destiny in his hand, and the only one who can stop him is the Spectre! But the Spectre hovers at death's door, split from his host, and only one person can save him: Crispus Allen. Meanwhile, the Question, Radiant, and Huntress struggle to defend what's left of Gotham in the face of a Justifier siege.

The deadline blues...

So here we go again..... the sleepless nights, the endless cups of coffee and the dreams of just hanging out doing nothing. My deadline has tracked me down like the grim reaper. I have insane amount of pages due by the end of the week.

I hate having to work like this. I mean how can you enjoy what you're doing when all you have consuming you're thoughts are being done. Generally I don't work well under this type of stress. On the upside in a way it's when you really discover what you are made of..... I guess.

Well, back to the drawing board..... literally.

Latest Commission

Since I've been away I've been keeping pretty busy with the typical deadlines and not your average Ironman commission. If you're thinking man this must have taken forever you're right it did. Some how I kept my sanity though so I'm up for more commissions...... I think?

Pencils by: Philip Tan
Inks: J.Glapion :)

Tools used: lots of coffee and excedrin.

Coming Soon.....

So it's been a while but I'm back. I've grown pretty tired of the old site so I'm putting artoficial dot com under the knife. It's taking me forever for two reasons, I'm doing the site myself, and my deadlines on Final Crisis: Revelations. So bare with me a bit longer.
